Furthermore, we are currently waiting on the big Lorekeeper 2.0.0 update to introduce several very exciting website updates (f.e. galleries!). There are certain issues that can't be resolved until we're on the newest version and we might encounter a few new bugs in the time of transition, so we ask for your patience in that regard!
We'll 100% make an independent news post when all updates are complete, so no worries =)

Lost Records - Event Hub

"THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.
The Paralogos registration system has experienced an unforeseen downtime last night that resulted in medium to severe levels of data corruption. While the circumstances are under investigation, all services that require data changes are being put on hold. If you seem to be affected by the corruption, please contact us via the relevant forms on the company website. We ask for your patience and understanding."
The pre-recorded announcement fades out in the completely empty hall of Sermos' Paralogos office. You just came here to make a small change to one of your records, but it appears that this will have to wait for another time. But before you can even turn to leave, you hear an electronic "oh-oh" sound and then someone addresses you: "Hello, I'm Jave. Are you part of the reinforcements sent by our associates at PALS?"
You turn around and spot a large Paralogos with a tiny, screaming one a few steps away. They look at you with tired eyes and add much quieter: "Please say yes, I'm gonna lose my mind if I have to get back in there empty-handed."
You make a thinking sound, which the Paralogos takes as confirmation. "Great! Let's get you to base so you can get briefed."
Event Briefing
It was discovered that the Paralogos registration records #280 to #289 have been completely lost to some very strange data corruption phenomenon. Now the database admins are trying their hardest to figure out who these ten Paralogos could possibly be - so they can make sure that the records are fixed asap!
But for that, they need your help!
Over the course of the next few weeks, Jave and their team will share objectives on this page, which outline the specific steps they need you to take in order to help identify the lost Paralogos.
There will be rewards for each objective, including a special bonus reward for completing the bonus objective each objective comes with.
This special bonus reward is a raffle ticket for a very valuable prize that will be raffled off when all ten records have been restored (so at the end of this event).
(Meaning that the more bonus objectives you complete, the better your odds of winning the big final prize!)
Note that only the "Encrypted Data" objective will require you to draw. The other four objectives require you to think more than anything else!

Conclusion
A huge crowd has gathered in Sermos' Paralogos office. The deadline that the strange two-headed Paralogos had given everyone has now since passed and it appears that half the city wants to know is was going to happen next.
Mystery walks up to the crowd from seemingly nowhere and opens their arms theatrically, their voice booming: "Greetings again, everyone! We're so glad to see all of you so entranced with our performance!" - "We, too, were very excited to watch you all solve our riddles." - "And you did!" - "You did, indeed. So as promised, we are releasing the five mysterious Paralogos into your city!" - "They don't have anyone, so try to look out for them, alright?"
The five Paralogos step out from behind the towering Mystery, a confused look on their faces, before they disappear into the crowd, aimlessly.
"Okay. That out of the way-! We've watched you all closely." - "Very closely." - "And we determined several of you to be fit to be our assistant." - "Ohh, but we can only use one of you. So we decided-" - "We decided, through our mysterious ways, on just one. bonnbonn. You are the chosen one." - "We will come into contact with you on our own terms." - "To everyone else: Thank you for your enthusiastic cooperation."
They bow to the crowd and call with their combined voices: "That will be all."
Seconds later, they are nowhere to be found. The only thing left of them are scattered pieces of paper everywhere and small purple tokens that just appeared in everyone's hands. How did they do that?

This means that you can now filter the masterlist by magic and/or wisdom tiers - here is f.e. a filter with all Paralogos that have tier 6 magic =)
We also still have our ongoing event, Lost Records!

New Report Feature & More

As a follow-up to the website news mentioned on the last news post, we are now here to share the first few new features with you!
You can now not only share whether you're open for gift art for your character, but also for gift writing!
These can be searched for independently via the masterlist search function.
Additionally, color-coded icons have been added to all masterlist entries that show you the character's gift art, gift writing and trading status on a glance!
You can now have your discord, toyhouse, twitter and instagram accounts linked on your account via little icons next to your username - see mewhaku's profile for a live example!
These can be set via your account settings.
We now have a site-wide reports feature! With this, you can report both bugs and user-generated content.
You can file reports via the bug reports page linked in the navbar under "browse" as well as in the footer of every page!
When filing bug reports:
Please be aware that all bug reports are made public so they can be checked by all members to avoid having one bug reported several times.
A list of all reported bugs can be found on the bug reports page.
We ask you to please use this system to report all bugs you encounter so we can fix them asap!
When filing reports against user-generated content or behavior:
All non-bug reports are private, meaning they can only be seen by you and the administrative staff (mewhaku, Mouse and Speedy).
You can report users via the report icon on the upper right corner of their profile, character profiles via the icon above the profile description box, and comments via the icon on the bottom right of each comment.
All of these can also be reported via the regular bug reports page - just make sure to add the correct link in the URL box and to not mark it as a bug!

November Spotlight

This server upgrade unfortunately caused a few website outages this last week - these should however now all be resolved!
(If you notice anything malfunctioning, please contact us so we can solve any potential issue asap!)
On a very different note, consider keeping an eye out for shenanigans that might transpire later this month!

Item Add-Ons & Automation

This time we've got 2 admin QoL updates that are also going to make some things more straight-forward for you!
You can now add items from your inventory to submissions and claims to use them!
Any item added to a submission/claim will be consumed (= permanently deleted from your inventory) upon approval.
This means that admins now no longer have to manually delete items from your inventory when you've used them (f.e. Sparks of Insight or MYO items).
This also means that your inventory logs now tell you exactly where you've used an item, as opposed to it just being noted as "deleted by staff".
The following procedures make use of this new feature:
- Word Claims / MYO item transformations (see Start MYO Process prompt)
- using Sparks of Insight (see User Guide)
- using De-Maginators (see User Guide)
Masterlist artworks now get automatically cropped and watermarked!
For you users, this just means that you no longer have to see the thumbnail cropping option when submitting MYO designs.
Simply upload the transparent artwork and you're set!
(It also means that, going forward, the masterlist will look even more consistent! Nice!)
As a side note: All masterlist artworks will be downsized to 800x800 pixels (if your artwork is smaller, it will stay small).
Since the fullsized artworks are saved on our server for backup purposes, we'd appreciate it greatly if your MYO design artworks would be no bigger than 1000x1000 pixels!

Comments + other QoL

We've got a few Quality of Life updates for you all today!
You can now leave comments on worldoflingua.com!
Specifically, you can comment on news posts and profiles!
We also have the ability to enable comments on pages. We will make use of this part of the feature later down the line.
Part of this update is also the new user icon feature - you can set/change yours via your account settings!
Items in your inventory will now stack.
This means that if you own multiple units of an item, they will be combined into one stack that tracks the amount and source of every unit of that item.
This system allows you to handle multiple item units at the same time - meaning you could f.e. send over 3 Sparks of Insight to a friend with just one transfer (4 clicks) instead of three (9 clicks)!
It also allows you to purchase multiple items at once in our shops!
All adoptable Paralogos will now be tracked via the new Sales Post feature (see the next to "news" in the top navigation bar).
These posts let you know of all available adopts and prices as well as all contact options for the artist at a glance.
This means that you are no longer forced to check dA regularly (or to be on our discord server) to see new Paralogos adopts - since new sales posts are announced just like new news posts!
Because of the new comment system, this also gives our designers the option to sell Paralogos directly via the sales posts!
Meaning you might see designs being sold exclusively via comments on sales pages, or having the option to buy it either on dA or via the sales page, etc.
This will not fully replace sales held on DeviantArt, but will be an addition to them.
You will still need to buy a design off-site in most cases by contacting the artist in question, and a design may be claimed off-site depending on how an artist decides to hold their sales.
You can now select a "ask first" option for gift art on the masterlist via character profiles!
New news posts (and sales posts!) will now be made visible via the link in the navigation bar changing its color to yellow and a little bell appearing!
This update gets rid of the obstructing blue notification bar.

Art Exchange Event

Summer's slowly grinding to a halt. Water balloons have been put away and now people are arguing about whether technology is great or not.
Memer clearly likes at least one type of technology- being able to capture moments in time as future souvenirs with a camera. But even they like to go back to non-digital aspects sometimes..
Like painting! It shouldn't be surprising that our finger painting savant is into the traditional arts.. And.. Though they refuse to show us the current status..
Apparently they're drawing this as.. a gift?
- Everyone who signs up for this event will randomly be assigned one (1) other member who they will create an artwork for.
- To keep up the surprise, please don't share your assigned member and/or your artwork with anyone until Posting Day (Oct 3rd)!
- On September 1st, you will receive a deviantart note with all relevant information on your assigned member.
- You then have one (1) month to create your artwork.
- We ask for your artwork to be worth at least 7 Ink (see Earning Ink - min. shaded headshot / 350 words).
- When you're done, reply to the deviantart note with your completed artwork until October 1st at the latest.
- If you're unable to complete your artwork in time, please contact the group as soon as possible so we can reach out to a backup artist!
- Depending on circumstances, you might be banned from future art exchange events if you abandon your art assignment - so please make sure to only sign up if you're sure you can create an artwork in time!
Sign-Up: August 21st - August 31st
Info is sent out: September 1st
Time to Create: September 1st - September 30th
Deadline: October 1st
