Hi all! After a busy month of June we have a few updates for you all!
Firstly, we do have a new Art Fight Prompt up! Please throw your Art in here and get a +3 Lingua Currency of Choice bonus as you please. It is combined with an older prompt, just use ART FIGHT REWARDS as the URL section.
We encourage our users to create and use their Lingua characters on Art Fight of course! Or if you've received artwork or writing, please toss those results in there too.
The new Monthly Prompt has been released: TYOC: Balloons vs Waterguns Remember this is part of the Year of Competitions event!
The Spotlight member this month is Embric !

[Event] Linguan Pride Festival '22 [CLOSED]

Ah, is it June once again? As you enter the city of Sermos, you immediately notice that it's buzzing with people. Sure, it's usually quite crowded, but this is something else entirely.
There's upbeat music blasting from every second corner, big banners and flags adorning buildings, and big colorful floats driving slowly through the filled streets. You see humans, Paralogos and Whifflings alike running around and laughing; some are carrying big flags, some are wearing them as capes, some are holding signs.
You see a Paralogos, looks like Gingko - running around a brightly colored cape!
He looks over and smiles widely. It is also as if it is a welcome to Sermos' Pride festival! People from everywhere around Lingua travelled here to have a good time. There's so much to see and do.
Event Summary
Within the world of Lingua, often in June, there are many festivals celebrating elements of Pride. The residents of the capital of Sermos are known to have boisterous celebrations- citizens, caretakers, Paralogos, and even Whifflings, all coming together to celebrate one another and the multiplicity of their relationships towards others and themselves!
While Paralogos are known to be asexual by their own biology, there are many that have found themselves in various kinds of romantic relationships, and supportive friendships, or who find themselves happier alone or only having a Caregiver Bond.
Whifflings have been rumored to have offspring meanwhile, and find themselves in many kinds of relationships sometimes culminating in children on occasion, though our research is limited on how those situations may come about... it is worth investigating!
What can be known for sure is that Lingua spans wide and ranging groups of all kinds of individuals from every walk of life, and no matter who you are, these boisterous celebrations bring everyone into a joyous and excitable spirit!
How to Submit Entries
All event entries have to be worth at least 5 of the respective currency and have to depict one or more of the following subjects:
- A relationship of whatever kind (romantic/platonic/bond/etc.).
- A character's introspect about being alone or what kind of relationship(s) they dream of (romantic/platonic/bond/etc.).
- A character being proud, either of themselves or someone else.
- A character celebrating or being a part of the festival.
You may submit collaborations, however, every participant has to fulfill the minimum currency requirements in order to be eligible for rewards.
You may also submit monthly prompt, magic progression, or wisdom task entries as event entries, as long as they directly depict at least one of the four above mentioned subjects.
All submissions have to be new works specifically made for this event!
Who can You draw?
- Your own Paralogos, Whifflings, Companions, Pets and Caretakers [Note, as of 6/14/22 we do allow AU artwork as well! Such as human forms and similar!]
- The following NPCs/mascots: Ginkgo (demiromantic), Rot (aromantic) & Gin (demiromantic)
- Other member's Paralogos, Whifflings, Companions, Pets and Caretakers (if their gift art / gift writing status is set to "Yes")
To officially submit an entry for this event, do the following:
- Upload the artwork/literature/etc to the correct gallery folder.
- If your entry doubles as a monthly prompt, magic, or wisdom submission, submit it to the associated gallery folder.
- Otherwise submit it to the Linguan Pride Festival 2022 folder!
- Make a new submission to the event prompt based on the instructions in the prompt description.
Rewards
Every submitted event entry that fulfills the requirements will reward you with one (1) Pride Bag.
There is a Paralogos and Whiffling variant - you can freely choose which one you wish to earn for each entry!
Pride bags include currency and items related to the species in question, including loot bags/whifflebags, as well as exclusive items such as vouchers or Pair of Wings/Vial of Changing Sight!
Submitting at least one (1) event entry will also earn you the following Pride Memento at the end of the event:
Deadline
This event lasts one month, from June 1st to June 30th, 11:59 pm site-time.
The event gallery folder and event prompt have a grace period of one (1) day until July 1st, 11:59 pm to allow processing of late submissions.

Hi all! After a busy month of May we have a few updates for you all!
We (@/Speedy) has added a new toggle on Gallery submissions for Animation level! This is to show the intent for your animation submission since we've been receiving them more often recently. =D Speedy has also decided to add a little marker on what is optional and what is required for various types of submissions. We hope this helps!
We also have the newest EVENT going on, the 2022 Edition of the Linguan Pride Festival!

Hi all! After a very busy April (for mewhaku !) we have a slow and easy go month for you all.
We have Iron 's sheet set up LINKED HERE. In order to deal with this you'll need to make a copy and go through your own claims. You'll need to then submit to ASK QUESTIONS HERE prompt with your adjusted total. We hope this helps. EDIT: PURCHASE HISTORY LINK HERE.
EDIT: As for a reasoning as to "What this is" -
Since the first day the site has been up and running, we were unable to implement the membership card discount. Everyone who had the card was supposed to have a 5% discount, but since the site launched, that has unfortunately been missing in action.
The sheet linked on the news post is for filling in everything you purchased on-site, from either the moment the site went up, assuming you already had a membership card at the time, or from the moment you got your membership card.. up until the discount got returned at the start of the last month. (Of course, if you forgot to use your discount since it's been implemented, you're also allowed to add those.)
For example, if all you bought since the site has been up was one (1) level 6 MYO book, which costs 200 ink, you'd get 10 ink back. (As 10 is 5% of 200.)
Please follow the instructions on the Splash page of the sheet. After filling up the sheet with your information, you can send that in and regain the 5% discount you were supposed to get over all those purchases.

We have a plethora of new features (not to worry, this is NOT April Fools related!) to announce on site.
Firstly... we have Co-Owners. By submitting to this prompt (we've added new instructions for this feature), we can add a SECOND owner to any character for you. See #84 Black Baccara Rose and #85 Dog Rose as examples!
Second, we have Shop Features, which FINALLY enables Membership Card use properly!!! When you purchase something from ANY shop, you will see the option to use the card. The Membership Card is infinite use, so please don't worry about using it. Contact us if there are any issues!
We apologize for taking so long to get this function online, we were unfortunately reliant on extension developers, as we do not have the know-how to do this properly ourselves. We are trying to think of how to compensate those affected. If anyone has suggestions, please let us know, but we cannot retroactively calculate currency lost as a result.
Third, we have the Adoption Center, which is not enabled currently but we will work on getting it set up.
Fourth, we have Wishlists, which should be fun in general! =D
AND... I have rolled the winners of the 7th Anniversary World of Lingua Raffle. I will be reaching out to Howee , wanderandfriend , FNGaymer , Shane , Inkcess , and Kei in that order!!

7th World of Lingua Anniversary [CLOSED]

We'd love to celebrate a bit, considering this day is the 7th Anniversary of the Paralogos and (and by association) Whiffling Species!
mewhaku (Mew, aka me) would like to give back a little bit and hand out some gifts to celebrate the species!
In honor of the anniversary, and our site growing so large, we've made a 7th Anniversary Memento. This can be claimed (if you didn't already enter the raffle) via the Claims feature.

The reward of 7 ink and caps per entrant will be rewarded alongside the 7th Anniversary Memento as part of that grant. So thank you for your patience! And thank you all for coming together to make this group and site what it is... a personal note from my (mewhaku) heart, I am so thankful for each and every one of you. Truly. ;_;

A Lovely Art Exchange Event [ENDED]

As February has rolled around... One has to wonder, were any of Lingua's residents planning a gift exchange? It seems Arden and Alta have something they're cooking up actually! A little gift exchange that will come through in March...
- Everyone who signs up for this event will randomly be assigned one (1) other member who they will create an artwork for.
- To keep up the surprise, please don't share your assigned member and/or your artwork with anyone until Posting Day (March 18th)!
- On February 18th, you will receive a Contact Note (Discord preferred!) with all relevant information on your assigned member.
- You then have one (1) (approximately) month to create your artwork.
- We ask for your artwork or writing to be worth at least 7 World of Lingua Currency (see Earning Currency - min. shaded headshot / 350 words). [You can also do a few gifts that summed up are worth at least 7 WoL currency. No it doesn't have to be Valentine's themed, can just do any gift theme!]
- When you're done, reply to the contact note (Discord) with your completed artwork until March 17th at the latest.
- If you're unable to complete your artwork in time, please contact the group as soon as possible so we can reach out to a backup artist!
- Depending on circumstances, you might be banned from future art exchange events if you abandon your art assignment - so please make sure to only sign up if you're sure you can create an artwork in time!

Whiffling Achievements are here!

Whiffling Achievements are here!
That's right!
From this moment on, you can head over to the freshly updated Achievement System page to find out what Whiffling achievements you're able to earn & how, and what sort of rewards are waiting for you!
Hint: One of them has to do with Mavericks =)
Please note that from now on, when claiming achievement rewards please specify whether you're claiming Paralogos or Whiffling milestones.
We've also got three new trophy-equivalent items for you to collect:
for completing the achievement:
"Silver Star"
for completing the achievement:
"Gold Star"
for completing the achievement:
"Bronze Star"
Just like with Paralogos achievements, once you've earned one of these Ribbons, you will be displayed on the Spotlight MVP Display.
We do have to point out that not all achievements are currently earnable.
Namely, Pet Magic, Crowns, and Breeding-related achievements are unachievable until their related feature is released.
These three features are at the top of our to-do list, but until then please simply take this as a teaser for things to come!

The Wicked + Maverick Auction is tomorrow!
A quick reminder that the Maverick Whiffling and Wicked Paralogos MYO Slot auctions will be held on Saturday (1/22/22) at 7pm EST!
Auctions will end 24 hours after the last bid.
Note that while the auction IS for a MYO Slot, the winners will have the option to either design it themselves or have it designed by either mewhaku or Mouse !
