Changes At the End of the Year
Posted 2 years ago :: Last edited 2 years ago by mewhakuHello everyone! We have a couple announcements to clarify, just so everyone [Discord and elsewhere] are aware.
Firstly, Admin Speedy has chosen to resign from his position after many years of work on the site. He will stay around until the end of the Year of Competitions. At this point he is only processing current Prompt submissions. We thank him for the years of work he has done for the group, and we wish him the best as he goes on to new travels.
Official Artists Numiauri and PromptoBeans have also chosen to step down, though Numiauri is sticking around as a normal member! They're both working more on the Realm of Mynros site, and we hope it all grows and flourishes! We again thank them both for all of the wonderful artwork and character designs they've contributed to the group.

Multiple new Paralogos and Whiffling characters were donated kindly to the Linguan Preserve! Be sure to visit and see if you'd like to take one of them home. Also, if you would like to see where some MYO slots went that were there- you can check this page on LogosLibrary 's account. If you see something you'd like to claim, please reach out to mewhaku so that she can make it available. Otherwise, they will be used as a plan for some further fun activities! If you need a character's linked Toyhouse profile, just reach out to mewhaku as well.

As a result of some of these resignations as well, some characters were voided/deleted. So please excuse the Masterlist for being a bit messy! As of January 1st, 2023 we will be filling in those inactive numbers! When you submit a new MYO slot, you can request an old number specifically that is open. Otherwise we will fill it in as normal with the next available number.
We have added a formal voiding process as part of the Ask Questions here prompt.
You have two options: complete deletion, and temporary voiding. Complete deletion means the word or scent will become unclaimed [and free for users to claim] and you will need to regain any items needed to remake the character again.
Temporary voiding means the character will stay on your profile, the word or scent will remain claimed, and the image made a lower opacity with the site's watermark on it. You can contact us to re-instate it when you are ready.

As part of Speedy's resignation, we will be re-writing some information as per his request. So be sure to peek into Annex 4: Recent Events! We have a woman who seems to be the Caretaker of Ginkgo sharing some diary entries...
As we move towards the end of the year, we hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday season! Please stick with us as we move into 2023. We have lots of fun plans!

This past month we added some clarifications on how Writing gives awards on the Earning Currency page. We also added some clarifications and a new rule on Co-Owned characters and their rewards too. We hope this helps clarify some systems for rewards!

Whiffling Pet Magic is Here!

We are happy to announce the Whiffling Pet Magic feature is finally here!
Our main NPC character for this is Vardan, who also has a little pet who's gained a magical ability...

Alongside this new feature, we have also taken a moment to update the Paralogos Magic Annex to be a bit easier to comprehend (and to no longer refer to dA, oops).
We have the new Prompt here for Magic Acquisition in Whiffling Pets. We also have a new Gallery folder for it here!
With this, another chunk of the Whiffling Achievements have become earnable. This should make earning a Maverick Whiffling possible.
We are also happy to announce that we are actively working on getting the Crowns feature ready for release as well, so that soon all Whiffling Achievements will be obtainable! Thanks all for your patience. =D
EDIT: A small note, to keep things more consistent- De-Maginator / Spark of Insight were added to the Ink Market and removed from the Snapshot Shop to make its lineup more consistent with Whiffle Wares' item options!

A little note here- as of 10/29/22 - we have a small Halloween bonus going on in our Discord Server!
You can check your status on claiming three gifts here. Seems like the Halloween crew got a bit busy this year, but still have some things to share!
Fall is in the air and we here in Lingua welcome it!
This past month we added the Linguan Preserve to the site! And we've seen success with characters and MYO slots finding new homes~ Also, we seemed to have missed adding the Suggestion Box to the site! So far we've just been using the #suggestions Discord Channel. Suggestion mention has been added to the Ask Questions Here Prompt on site.
Also... we are working on another feature to the site- and we hope to release it soon!

The Crossing is Here

Welcome to The Crossing. The Whiffling Breeding feature!
And so it finally returns with some new tips and tricks, new features and an updated system overall!
We've got a new Breeding Prompt. We've updated the Redesign Page fully too! Now with updated pricing and Whiffling options officially stated! We've been hard at work getting these out, so a major thank you to our Admin Team for all their hard work!
EDIT: As a result, Twin Potion items have now appeared in the Whiffle Wares shop as well!
The Lore section has been fully updated with all recent The Year of Competition Prompts as well, and the headers cleaned up too.
We will have an additional bit of Lore information coming out soon for how Whiffling Crossing works in world, but we hope that the information on the Breeding page will help to sate any curiousity until then!
We also heartily thank tamingofthesandshrew for their service and time in the group, but due to offline busy-ness they have chosen to step down in their position officially. So that is why they are no longer on the Official Artists page. Thank you again Taming!

Hi all! As summer closes with the end of August, we have some information for you all.
EDIT: 9/18 : An Addendum to the News Post! It looks like the Linguan Preserve is now open! Afina is welcoming new residents to the Preserve, and it seems there's already two residents there already. Hopefully this encourages members to find new friends! The Linguan Preserve is a way for members to get some compensation (of Linguan currency) if they wish to surrender a character they no longer wish to own, and also a way for members to adopt a new pre-made character. We are so happy to finally have it created and working! EDIT EDIT: To clarify, we also DO enable MYO Slot surrenders WITH a CONFIRMED word or scent choice!
It has been formally added to the Ask Questions Here prompt that you can have your World of Lingua character appraised, and re-evaluated value wise for reselling. Please do not abuse this feature, but in order to have your character's re-evaluated, please link the character, give any proof you have of commission values, and then mewhaku will review it. Please link artwork as well! Follow up questions happen on Discord.

Hi all! After a busy month of June we have a few updates for you all!
Firstly, we do have a new Art Fight Prompt up! Please throw your Art in here and get a +3 Lingua Currency of Choice bonus as you please. It is combined with an older prompt, just use ART FIGHT REWARDS as the URL section.
We encourage our users to create and use their Lingua characters on Art Fight of course! Or if you've received artwork or writing, please toss those results in there too.

[Event] Linguan Pride Festival '22 [CLOSED]

Ah, is it June once again? As you enter the city of Sermos, you immediately notice that it's buzzing with people. Sure, it's usually quite crowded, but this is something else entirely.
There's upbeat music blasting from every second corner, big banners and flags adorning buildings, and big colorful floats driving slowly through the filled streets. You see humans, Paralogos and Whifflings alike running around and laughing; some are carrying big flags, some are wearing them as capes, some are holding signs.
You see a Paralogos, looks like Gingko - running around a brightly colored cape!
He looks over and smiles widely. It is also as if it is a welcome to Sermos' Pride festival! People from everywhere around Lingua travelled here to have a good time. There's so much to see and do.
Event Summary
Within the world of Lingua, often in June, there are many festivals celebrating elements of Pride. The residents of the capital of Sermos are known to have boisterous celebrations- citizens, caretakers, Paralogos, and even Whifflings, all coming together to celebrate one another and the multiplicity of their relationships towards others and themselves!
While Paralogos are known to be asexual by their own biology, there are many that have found themselves in various kinds of romantic relationships, and supportive friendships, or who find themselves happier alone or only having a Caregiver Bond.
Whifflings have been rumored to have offspring meanwhile, and find themselves in many kinds of relationships sometimes culminating in children on occasion, though our research is limited on how those situations may come about... it is worth investigating!
What can be known for sure is that Lingua spans wide and ranging groups of all kinds of individuals from every walk of life, and no matter who you are, these boisterous celebrations bring everyone into a joyous and excitable spirit!
How to Submit Entries
All event entries have to be worth at least 5 of the respective currency and have to depict one or more of the following subjects:
- A relationship of whatever kind (romantic/platonic/bond/etc.).
- A character's introspect about being alone or what kind of relationship(s) they dream of (romantic/platonic/bond/etc.).
- A character being proud, either of themselves or someone else.
- A character celebrating or being a part of the festival.
You may submit collaborations, however, every participant has to fulfill the minimum currency requirements in order to be eligible for rewards.
You may also submit monthly prompt, magic progression, or wisdom task entries as event entries, as long as they directly depict at least one of the four above mentioned subjects.
All submissions have to be new works specifically made for this event!
Who can You draw?
- Your own Paralogos, Whifflings, Companions, Pets and Caretakers [Note, as of 6/14/22 we do allow AU artwork as well! Such as human forms and similar!]
- The following NPCs/mascots: Ginkgo (demiromantic), Rot (aromantic) & Gin (demiromantic)
- Other member's Paralogos, Whifflings, Companions, Pets and Caretakers (if their gift art / gift writing status is set to "Yes")
To officially submit an entry for this event, do the following:
- Upload the artwork/literature/etc to the correct gallery folder.
- If your entry doubles as a monthly prompt, magic, or wisdom submission, submit it to the associated gallery folder.
- Otherwise submit it to the Linguan Pride Festival 2022 folder!
- Make a new submission to the event prompt based on the instructions in the prompt description.
Rewards
Every submitted event entry that fulfills the requirements will reward you with one (1) Pride Bag.
There is a Paralogos and Whiffling variant - you can freely choose which one you wish to earn for each entry!
Pride bags include currency and items related to the species in question, including loot bags/whifflebags, as well as exclusive items such as vouchers or Pair of Wings/Vial of Changing Sight!
Submitting at least one (1) event entry will also earn you the following Pride Memento at the end of the event:
Deadline
This event lasts one month, from June 1st to June 30th, 11:59 pm site-time.
The event gallery folder and event prompt have a grace period of one (1) day until July 1st, 11:59 pm to allow processing of late submissions.
