Definition: Taiyaki is a Japanese fish-shaped cake, commonly sold as street food. It imitates the shape of tai, which it is named after. The most common filling is red bean paste that is made from sweetened azuki beans. Other common fillings may be custard, chocolate, cheese, or sweet potato. Strawberry taiyaki in particular is strawberry flavored.

This Whiffling has a stylized nose, which was used pre-website design guide update. It should be drawn with a y-style nose when possible, but as this pre-dated standardization for the species, this style is essentially grandfathered in.
