Origin:
Named after the Greek words konis, meaning “powder,” and chalkos, meaning “copper,” in allusion to the copper in the composition and its occasional appearance as a powdery crust.

Definition:
The meaning of Conichalcite is a mineral CaCu(AsO4)(OH) consisting of basic copper calcium arsenate occurring in green masses. It is a relatively common arsenate mineral related to duftite. It is green, often botryoidal, and occurs in the oxidation zone of some metal deposits.
