Conservation -- Younger Days
The tabula rasa -- known hereafter colloquially as "Conservation" -- stood excitedly outside the brick-and-metal gate, bouncing lightly on their toes. The flyer for the reopened "SERMOS ZOO" had blown into their hiding spot in the mostly barren park, startling them but intriguing them enough to venture from the safety of their home.
They were so excited they didn't realize that the lights along their side had started to glow ever brighter and change colors...

Ally is in her first stages of discovering her word focus, conservation. I imagine that, due to the relative isolation of natural resources on Lingua, a zoo like this would be a pretty unique part of the city and would garner quiiiite a bit of attention from those who had only ever seen certain critters from books and the occasional documentary or art piece.
This trip is the biggest thing that gets in her into conservation, and is what convinces her to join into the human society at large. A new lifelong dream of saving nature was born!
