In With the New, Out With the Old Magic: Tier 1
This friendly chap is Rockford, better known by the more affectionate "Rocky" by a particular young man. As a Triceridos, he doesn't have a specific word to define him; however, he has great fondness for the idiom "in with the new, out with the old," which he feels sums himself up rather well. While he can sometimes come across as full of hot air, no one can deny that he's truly passionate about a variety of topics, especially relating to the antiques at the store he inhabits.
His personality seems easy enough to parse at first, but this fellow has more layers than he lets on. As stated, he has a fantastic ability to prattle on for hours about the history of any specific object in the antique store's collection, whether it be as interesting as an old tome or as... less interesting as an oddly-shaped lamp. However, his true passion lies with interacting with children -- they are always so kind and willing to listen to him. In truth, he would rather listen to them! Hearing about a young one's day warms this old Triceridos' heart.
Tier 1 Magic: Triceridos appears to be tarnished and polished at the same time.
- "In with the new, out with the old" (and the more well-known flipped variation) typically relates to discarding old ideas, values, etc. in favor of new ones, essentially as making either a small or major change. Rocky has a hide that reflects this. His tarnished side, which cannot be polished to a bright shine, reflects past ideas and values of the old Lingua. His polished side, which can never be tarnished or fade, reflects new ideas emerging within cities such as Sermos -- that of working again with nature and repairing the war-torn world. Despite his desire to move onto new things and bring in hope, he still harbors sentimentality for the past, hence both sides being reflected upon him.
